Moving from a house to a flat in Uccle: our customized solution

A couple wanted to leave their family house in Lasne to move to a flat more functional in Uccle. The Maison Genné was chosen to manage the specifics for this move :

• Leaving a 350 m² house for a 150 m² flat requires some furniture sacrifices
• Thankfully, the children were ready to take some of the furniture
• On the other hand, the apartment would still be partially under construction on moving day

Moving from Brabant Wallon to Brussels

These criteria to take into account, several different transports proved necessary:

• Moving to their flat on the 3rd floor
• Transporting furniture the children took, who have all moved to the Brabant Wallon
• Depositing a part of the furniture in one of our storage units, until the end of the work at the flat

Storage unit services next to Uccle

Our customers were worried about the progress of renovations in their new flat. They could certainly take care of the flat, but what to do with the furniture that was to be placed in the room being renovated?

We offered a couple the storage unit solution. Different from self-storage, the furniture storage by the professionals goes beyond the mere occupation of a shed. Your belongings are carefully packed by us and stored in a completely secure way.

This service is a short, medium, or long-term solution. The advantage of using the Maison Genné is its flexibility: according to the progress of the site, it is possible to use a storage unit for a few days just before moving.

An inventory of goods according to their destination

During our preliminary visit, we established several elements:

• A detailed quote by destination: flat, children’s home and storage units
• A precise inventory: our movers create a colour code in consultation with our customers so as to identify each of them. This inventory allows them to load the lorry according to the logistical order of the journey to be made. All operations could be done on the same day, so we booked a lorry with the correct volume
• Check on necessary protections: access protection (doors, halls, stairs), floors (parquet), etc.
• A furniture inventory: it was agreed that we would pack ourselves fragile or valuable objects. The other rooms were checked to signal beforehand any blows, scratches, or traces due to wear and tear

Comprehensive follow-up of their individual move

The flat was on the third floor, the lift was necessary during the move. Then again, a few weeks later, at the end of the renovations the lift was needed: the furniture could be brought from our furniture storage unit and placed in their spot in the newly renovated flat.

Flat buildings are at the heart of a wooded area. During each of our interventions, the garden benefited from being protected so as to not show any traces of mishandling.
